On May 8th, 1945 (already the 9th in Moscow), in Berlin, Nazi Germany’s high military command signed its unconditional surrender to the Soviet Union and Western Allies. After a campaign filled with epic struggles and sacrifices in the Eastern Front, fascism was finally defeated in Europe.
