Faiz Ahmad Faiz
Poeta y escritor pakistaní. Fue uno de los escritores de literatura punjabi y urdu más célebres, populares e influyentes de su época. También fue militar, sindicalista, profesor, periodista, locutor y un destacado miembro del Partido Comunista. Fue el primer poeta asiático en recibir el Premio Lenin de la Paz (1962) de la Unión Soviética y fue nominado para el Premio Nobel de Literatura. Tras la partición de la India, Faiz fue redactor jefe de dos importantes periódicos: el diario en inglés Pakistan Times y el diario en urdu Imroze.

Pakistani poet and writer. He was one of the most celebrated, popular, and influential writers of Punjabi and Urdu literature in his time. He was also a military officer, union leader, teacher, journalist, broadcaster, and a prominent member of the Communist Party. He was the first Asian poet to receive the Lenin Peace Prize (1962) from the Soviet Union and was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature. After the partition of India, Faiz served as editor-in-chief of two major newspapers: the English-language Pakistan Times and the Urdu daily Imroze.
