Ruth First
Intelectual comunista sudafricana. Ícono del periodismo de investigación y de la lucha antirracista. Ruth expuso la naturaleza fascista del estado del apartheid, la brutalidad policial y las implicancias económicas y estructurales de las leyes del apartheid. Fue encarcelada y torturada. A los 57 años, fue asesinada en Mozambique, donde trabajaba en el exilio, por un paquete bomba construido por la policía sudafricana.

South African communist intellectual. An icon of investigative journalism and the anti-racist struggle. Ruth exposed the fascist nature of the apartheid state, police brutality and the economic and structural implications of apartheid laws. She was imprisoned and tortured. At the age of 57, she was killed in Mozambique, where she was working in exile, by a package bomb built by the South African police.
