Claudia Jones
Periodista y comunista trinitense. Jones migró con sus padres a Estados Unidos de joven y allí se convirtió en una militante comunista y feminista. Para Jones al estudiar la opresión debían tomarse con seriedad no solo la clase y la raza sino que, en el centro del análisis, debía estar el género. Por ser miembro del Partido Comunista de Estados Unidos (CPUSA), fue deportada al Reino Unido en 1955. Allí se unió al Partido Comunista de Gran Bretaña y fue parte de la fundación del Carnaval de Notting Hill y del periódico West Indian Gazette.

Trinidadian journalist and communist. Jones migrated to the United States with her parents as a young girl, where she became an active communist and feminist. For Jones, when studying oppression, not only class and race should be taken seriously, but gender must be at the center of the analysis. As a member of the Communist Party of the United States (CPUSA), she was deported to the United Kingdom in 1955. There, she joined the Communist Party of Great Britain and was part of the founding of the Notting Hill Carnival and the West Indian Gazette newspaper.
